in an experiment a metal ball weighs 2 N in air and 1.5 N when immersed completely in water. what is the magnitude of the buoyant force acting on it.

Bouyant force = weight in air - weight in liquid
                        = 2- 1.5
                       = 0.5 N

Therefore, the buoyant force is 0.5N
