Hi friend
----------------
Your answer
---------------------
Given number => 54*106
We have to replace * with such a number that this number should be divisible by 3.
We know that,
-----------------------
If the sum of the digits of a number is divisible by 3 then the number will be divisible by 3.
Here,
--------
5+4+1+0+6 = 16
So, to make it divisible, we have to place 2 in place of *.
then the sum become 18.
Thus the number will 542106.

Heya!
Let the digit (*) be x
Since, Any number is divisible by 3 if its sum of the digit is divisible by 3.
For example , 24 is a number
Sum of digits = 2+4 =6 , which is divisible by 3.
So, 24 is also a multiple of 3.
In the same way,
Number= 54x106
Sum = 5+4+x+1+0+6
least value of x = 2
Then,
Sum = 5+4+2+1+0+6=18, which is divisible by 3.
So , the least value of x is 2.
And , the number 542106 is divisible by 3.
Hope it helps u.
