In a rectangle, opposite sides are equal.

CD = AB

x+y = 30. (1)

BC = AD

x- y = 14. (2)

Adding (1) and (2),

2x = 44

x = 22

From (1),

y = 8

Answer:since ABCD is a rectangle the opposite sides will be equal

Ab=cd and ad = BC

X+y=30

X-y=14

X=30-y

Putting the value of X in eqn 2 we get

30-y-y=14

30-2y=14

2y=16

Y=8

X=22

Hope it helps you
