If cylindrical cans of radius 8cm and height 32 cm is to be packed in a box of 68cm×52cm×50cm then the maximum number of cans that can be fit is 27.

Step-by-step explanation:

For Cylindrical Can:

Radius, r = 8 cm

Height, h = 32 cm

Therefore,

The volume a cylindrical can = πr²h = π * (8²) * 32 ….. (i)

For the box:

Length, l = 68 cm

Breadth, b = 52 cm

Height, h = 50 cm

Therefore,

The volume a box = length*breadth*height = 68 * 52 * 50 ….. (ii)

Thus,

The maximum no. of cans that can be fit into the box is,

= [Volume a box] / [Volume a cylindrical can]

=  [68 * 52 * 50] / [π*(8²)*32] …. [substituting from (i) & (ii)]

= [68 * 52 * 50] / [(22/7) * 8 * 8 * 32]

= [176800] / [6436.57]

= 27.46

27
