AD / AB = AE / AC { by basic proportionally theroum }

=> 2 / 4.5 = 3.2 / 3.2 + AC

=> 6.4 + 2AC = 4.5 * 3.2

=> 6.4 + 2AC = 1.44

=> 2AC =1.44 - 6.4

=> 2AC = 8

AC = 4

Answer:

In Triangle ADE and ABC,

AD=2

BD=2.5

AE=3.2

DE ll BC,

∴∠ADE=∠ABC ( corresponding angles)

  ∠AED=∠ACB ( corresponding angles)

   ∠BAC is common

 Δ ADE is similar to Δ ABC

In similar triangles , we know that ratio of corresponding sides are equal

∴ AB/AD=AC/AE

   (AD+BD)/AD = AC/AE

   (2+2.5)/2=AC/3.2

    4.5/2=AC/3.2

   ( 4.5×3.2)/2= AC

    7.2=AC

   Hence the value of AC is 7.2
