Platinum does not take part in electrolytic reaction.

Explanation:

The reason is that because platinum is an inert electrode n inert electrode do not take part in electrolytic reaction but though they are used in the reaction for the product formation. Graphite is an another example of inert electrolyte which does not take part in electrolytic reaction.
