We know that,
 a_{n}x^n+ a_{n-1}x^{n-1}+ ........................ + a_{2}x^{2} + a_{1}x +a_{0} is a polynomial of n th degree , where all the powers of variables are non negative integrals .

Given polynomial,
 \sqrt{2} x - 1

 = 0 {x}^{2} + \sqrt{2} x - 1

There is no x² term , so it's coefficient is 0 .
