In short l need answer Why are clothes spread out for drying?

The chlotes are spread out of drying because it creates more surface area and we know that greater the surface area than more the rate of evaporation....

With the same temperature and pressure, more water evaporates from the saucer because it has a larger surface area. The same principle helps wet clothes dry out. If wet clothes are spread out, they dry faster than if they're kept crumpled.the more surface area the faster will it get dried !
