In the absence of common language , what difficulties did lilliput and gulliver face ? how was the issue resolved /

Language was a barrier between the Lilliputians and Gulliver. They did not understand each other's language that is why Gulliver could not make the Lilliputians understand his burdens. He had to wait for two days to answer the nature's call and relieve himself.

The problem was resolved when six of his Majesty's greatest scholars were employed to instruct him in their language. In three weeks he made a lot of progress in learning the language. He used the first words he learnt to request them to give him his liberty.
