Given that,

Capacitor C₁ = 3μF

Capacitor C₂ = 5μF

Potential V₁= 4 V

Potential V₂= 20 V

We need to calculate the net potential

Using formula for net potential

V=V_{2}-V_{1}

Put the value into the formula

V=20-4

V=16\ V

We need to calculate the net capacitor

Using parallel formula

C_{eq}=C_{1}+C_{2}

Put the value into the formula

C_{eq}=3+5

C_{eq}=8\ \mu F

We need to calculate the potential difference across 3μF

Using formula of potential difference

V'=\dfrac{C_{1}}{C_{eq}}\times V_{net}

Put the value into the formula

V'=\dfrac{3}{8}\times16

V'=6\ V

Hence, The potential difference across 3μF is 6 V.

(2) is correct option.
