Yes they feel neglected because they live life according to their generation and not ours so the people of today's generation show less respect to the elder or old people. Also during old age they can't share their problems with others people of today's world think old people are boring and always want attention from the people . But that is not the case elder people just want someone to live with them because they know that their death is nearing so before dying to want someone who can make them feel enjoy and make them to enjoy their life before they sleep. We, the today's youth can atleast spend some time with them. We can share our problems with them because they are far more experienced than us since they know how to tackle odds in our life. We can atleast sit with them for sometime or ask them about their health. Due to this they may feel happy and they get encouraged to live last years of their life. Their encouragement might help them to get relief from their worries and if you try to atleast spend an hour with them it would be satisfactory to them. Also as youths are active and energenetic they can even help them in their daily chores and since elder people are weak they prefer the company of a young person because a young person is healthy and can do multiple things without getting weak which makes them to feel relax.Elder people are lonley only because their is generation gap today's youth thinks that he is mature enough to live life and so they don't listen to elder people and live life according to their will. We can't join two people from different generations but we can atleast adjust with them. That's it.

Hope this helps you.
