the total fee collected per month is the sum of all the charges fees

Sn=n/2(2a+(n-1)d)

Fee charged by class 1 = 250

Fee charged by class 2 = 250+150 =400

Fee charged by class 3 = 400 + 150 = 550

Clearly , the following list of nos. form an A.P.

Total money collected = S10

 =  \frac{n}{2} (2a + (n - 1)d)

 = 5(500 + 9 \times 50)

 = 5(500 + 450)

 = 5 \times 950

 = 4750
