in the poem if by Rudyard cipling the word 'IF' is repeated because of the following reasons
1) the poem is the advice of the poet to his son and it tells his son about what he must do to be a big wig . so it is up to him to make a decision . only if he can full fill those advices he would be able to succeed in it
2) to enhance the idea throughout the poem
