In this case, if we want to find the
smallest factor with which we can
multiply or divide 108 to get a square
number, what should we do? ​

Factorise 108, which will be

108 = 2*2*3*3*3

So, you can either divide the number by 3 or multiply it by 3 to make it a square number.

If you multiply by 3 the number will be 324 which is the square of 18.

And if you divide by 3 the number will be 36 which is the square of 6.
