He might be thinking of different methods of trying suicide...thinking that how unlucky he is that he can't even die properly....but after reading the newspaper his thoughts changed and he would think that it was very good that his attempt of committing suicide become unsuccessful....and he got a new life...and he can live that life properly and peacefully...
