GIVEN:

In triangle abc ,ab =9cm bc=12cm bd is the bisector of angle b

WHAT TO FIND?

What is the relation between the areas of triangle abd and triangle bcd ?

SOLUTION:

  • BD is angle bisector of Angle b

  • AB / BD = BC /CD

  • 9/ AD = 12/CD

  • AD /CD = 9/12 = 3/4

LET SAY BE PERPENDICULAR TO AC

AREA OF TRIANGLE ABD = 1/2 * AD * BE = 3

AREA OF TRAINGLE BCD 1/2 * CD * BE 4
