Ripening of bananas takes place in a cold climatic conditions. If we keep them in a warm environmental conditions then the bananas do not ripen prematurely & can be stored for a longer period of time.Hence, the farmers in the village store bananas with the coconut fibers that produce fire to keep their environment warm.
