\huge{Question}:-

➡in what ratio does the point p(2 -5) divide the line segment joining a(-3 5) and b(4 -9)

\huge{Solution}:-

➡Given:-

➡P(2 , -5) which divided the line AB

➡Where A(-3 , 5) , B(4 , -9)

➡Let the ratio be m1:m2 ie k:1

➡So by using section Formula✔✔

➡x = m1x2 + m2x1/m1+m2

➡ 2 = k × 4 + 1 × -3/k + 1

➡2( k + 1 ) = 4k - 3

➡2k + 1 = 4k - 3

➡2k - 4k = -3 - 1

➡- 2k = -4

➡ k = 2

➡Our ratio is:-

➡k:1

➡2:1 (k = 2)
