By the rule of alligation,

Cost of 1kg of first kind                                         Cost of 1kg of second kind

Rs. 16                                                                        Rs. 24

                                      Mean Price Rs.18

24-18=6                                                                     18-16=2

Therefore, required ratio is 6:2 i.e. 3:1
