Explanation:

Difference between toroid and solenoid :

  • Toroid is formed when we wound conductor around a circular body where as solenoid is formed when we wound conductor around a body having limb.
  • In toroid presence of magnetic field do not create any poles but in solenoid, north pole and south pole are developed at the end of the body.
  • Toroid is used in the case of minimum flux leakage where as solenoid is used when there is no effect of having flux leakage.
