plants absorb nitrogen from the soil in the form of nitrate and ammonium . in the soil where nitrification can occur ,the nitrate is usually the predominant from available nitrogen that ia absorbed
but plants donot use nitrogen directly from the air . because,nitrogen itself is unreactive ,and cannot be used by green plants .
