The answer is landscape.

The text is printed lengthwise in landscape orientation. In other words, the document is oriented horizontally. A page printed in landscape orientation is usually wide rather than being tall. In this case, the shorter sides of the page are located at both the left and right sides of the document.

Portrait mode

While typing a paper the default setting is portrait mode because typed pages are generally printed lenthwise. A page or image displayed in portrait mode is taller than it is wide.
