According Britannica, black soil is found 28 Indian states including: isolated parts of Ghat, the Malabar Coastal plains, Ratnagiri of Maharashtra and certain regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Meghalaya and West Bengal.
