DC vs Marvel: Comic Book Sales
A few years ago, Marvel would have had this advantage. But no more. DC has been knocking it out of the park with some amazing titles like Doomsday Clock and Dark Nights: Metal.
Not to mention DC’s massive Rebirth, whose size and scope (and sales, too) made Marvel’s Civil War II look like a kindergarten story. Geoff Johns is killing the competition.
Looks like Marvel finally came to their senses with the renewed focus on their mainstream heroes in Marvel Legacy, but this hasn’t stopped the DC juggernaut one bit.
Dec 2017: The top 5 comics are 4 DC, 1 Marvel. 6 of the top 10 titles are DC
Jan 2018: The top 5 is 4 DC, 0 Marvel. 6 of the top 10 titles are DC
Feb 2018: Marvel finally gets a foothold with 5 titles in the top 10. The top 5 is still 3 DC, 1 Marvel

DC vs Marvel: Video Games and Animated Movies
Even here, DC is killing it. The Batman Arkham series was one of the most critically acclaimed game franchises, with Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City winning Game of the Year awards.
And, of course, there’s Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2.
As for Marvel’s video games, they haven’t really sold much since the 90’s, apart from the Marvel vs Capcom series, and a few Spider-man games here and there.
Another media where DC’s dominance is absolute is animated movies. DC has consistently come up with many animated releases, and most of them have been very successful, such as Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and Justice League: War.

Marvel’s animated movies, also, have miserably failed to pick up steam, even with big names like Avengers Assemble. Once again they’ll have to rely on their cash cow Spider-man, with Into the Spiderverse coming in 2018.
DC vs Marvel on TV
On TV, it boils down to The CW’s Arrowverse vs Netflix’s Defenders (plus Marvel’s other TV projects). Both series are immensely popular, but since Netflix doesn’t release viewership data, there’s no way to compare the two except by critical ratings.

It’s obvious that the DC shows are much more critically acclaimed. Arrow and The Flash are still killing it after many seasons. While Marvel does have some truly amazing shows like Daredevil and Legion, the much anticipated Iron Fist tanked, while the critical response to The Defenders and The Punisher was less than great.
With not even 3 seasons aired so far per show, the Marvel Netflixverse is already falling behind the Arrowverse, which is still going strong.
DCEU vs MCU
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is doing great. To my (and so many others’) eternal disappointment, the DCEU is crashing and burning. This is the one and only market where Marvel is really crushing DC, and making a lot of money in the process.
