HERE'S UR ANSWER

Inland waterways are developed more in northern India than in southern India.

Some factors affecting this are as follows:-

1. Regular flow of sufficient water - Rivers in northern India are perennial and on plain land!

2. The presence of waterfalls, cataracts, sharp bends along river's course...hinders the development of waterways - which are the main features found in Southern India

3. There should be sufficient demand for waterways to make it an economically worthwhile mode of transport - which is there in Northern india

4. Silting of the river beds reduce the depth and creates problem for navigation. Water in the river is sometimes reduced due to the diversion of water for irrigation
