Is electric current a vector or scalar

Current has both magnitude and direction. As per the definition ofvector defined in encyclopedia, currentshould be a vector quantity. But, we know that current is a scalarquantity.

Here is your answer,
                                     ELECTRIC CURRENT:-I = q/t.

Electric current is a scalar quantity because as both charge and time are scalars, therefore electric current is a scalar quantity. 

The current has both direction and magnitude both but we call it scalar quantity because the direction in which the current flows is same.
