Yeah it is common to see white people in India. But in India it varies according to the region. In north India particularly in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal the skin complexions are white, fair, wheatish etc. As we move towards south, the complexion starts to change to darker and we see wheatish, dark, black complexions.
