Is it necessary that larger organisms have more number of chromosomes per cell?

I think yes because a larger organisms are made up of so many cells and every cell contains nucleus ,in every nucleus of every cell there is the structure inside the nucleus of the cell which is known as chromosomes and each cell contains that .So it is right
