Is it possible to have a triangle with the following sides?

1) 2cm, 3cm, 5cm
2) 6cm, 3cm, 2cm
3) 3cm, 6cm, 7cm

I want with explanation

Answer:

  1. No it is not possible

using triangle inequality theorem the sum of two sides should be greater than third side

  1. here sum of two sides are equal to third side

2cm + 3cm=5cm

before it cannot be Triangle

2. 3cm+ 2cm = 5 cm

the sum of two side is not greater then the third side so it cannot form Triangle

3. in this case forming a triangle with sides 3cm , 6 cm and 7 cm is possible because sum of 3 cm and 6 cm is greater than 7 cm( i.e;9cm)

therefore it forms a triangle
