The plasma membrane is selectively permeable as it selects which substances can enter the cell, and which cannot. It lies just before the cell membrane and encloses the cytoplasm. It is also known as Cell membrane, Semi-permeable membrane and Selectively-Permeable membrane.

yes the plasma membrane is selectively permeable membrane as it allows or permits the entry and exit of some material in and out of the cell. it lies in the outermost covering of the cell that separates the content of the cell from its external environment .
