Double displacement reaction occur in aqueous solution, and the combination of cation and anion occur forming a compound which is insoluble in water. That is why always precipitation reaction occur.May 25, 2015

Not everytime , a precipitate is formed only when a cation and anion and switch the places and that solution is a precipitate which is insoluble in water.
