Sound travelles in waves.
Hence sound is a wave and therefore it cannot be considered as a matter.

They also feel the Waves sound .sound cannot travel through a vacuum .A vacuum is an area without any are, like space.so,sound cannot travel through space because there is no matter for vibrations to work in
