Is there any material that can be used to harden petroleum without having to alter the petroleum chemically or physically before hand. For example, there are waste oil cleaner for like deep frying clean-up but it requires the oil to be above a certain temperature. In this case, is there a material or even just a chemical that would help with the hardening of petroleum regardless of its temperature or even if its near another substance such as water.
