• The swimming pool water is highly chlorinated. Since chlorine is denser than water it helps in increasing the density of the swimming pool. Due to this high density, it's easier to swim in the swimming pool as the man won't sink as compared to the river.
• River water on the other hand is not dense. Due to the low density of river water, it's not easy to swim in it.
