Hon'ble Ambassador,
Indian Embassy,
Tokyo,
Japan.

Dear Sir,

It has been reported by several Indian newspapers this morning that Japan was struck by an earthquake yesterday, which measured 7.5 on the Richter scale as per the meteorological centre in Tokyo. The press reports say that besides Tokyo, other cities like Kobe and Osaka have also been affected by the earthquake. The damage and destruction is apparently extensive and quite devastating in some places.
Sir, I hope you and your staff are unaffected. Would you kindly enlighten me on the plight of Indian students in Japan, as most Indians studying in Japan are based in the three cities I have mentioned above.
I shall be much obliged if you would kindly reply post haste.

Thanking you,
Yours Faithfully
