Jarawas are aborigines of Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India

Option (a)

Eskimos of Canada are Hunters

Option (a)

Explanation:

  • This tribe is indigenous to the Indian islands of Andaman and Nicobar, for more than seven thousand years. They are considered as an Adivasi group. Jangil tribe is considered as their parent tribe. Evidence from the early 19th century suggested that they inhabited the southernmost parts of the island.
  • But the initial settlement of the colonial rulers in the island for the growth of opium and consumption of alcohol and eventually spread of diseases underlined the reasons for their decline in population. They started migrating to the western areas gradually.
  • Eskimos of Canada, a group of indigenous people along the Siberian and Canadian Coast. The etymology of the same depicts they are raw eaters. They follow the tradition of killing bowhead whales and eating them raw from the early times of settlement.
