Answer :

Dan gets 40 sweets.

Solution with Explanation :

It is given that they share sweets in the ratio 6:5:2.

Let the common factor in their ratios be 'x ' . Now,

  • Jim = 6x
  • Dan = 5x
  • David = 2x

Also, Jim gets 32 more sweets than David.

So,

6x = 2x + 32

→ 6x - 2x = 32

→ 4x = 32

→ x = 32/4

∴ x = 8

Now,

Substitute the value of ' x ' in Dan's share.

We get,

⇒ 5 × 8

40 sweets

Hence, Dan gets 40 sweets.
