The journey of pick pea starts from a seed which is sown in the soil and is provided with nutrients like manures and fertilisers. Then the seed broke into the sprout having two hairy projections. One of which takes the form of roots and another forms shoot(i.e par of plant above the soil) As the soon as the root and shoot start developing they start preparing their own food rather than taking it form soil. The root starts taking water and minerals from the soil by the process of diffusion and provide them to the shoot. The root nodules also have rhizobhium bacteria with them which helps the nodules of root in nitrogen fixation. The water and minerals provide by roots go to leaves where photosynthesis occurs.
When the plant grows up it has flowers which convert into fruit. The fruit of pea plant is of green colour having pea seeds in it.Then the farmers pluck these fruits and sell them in market. And,from market they come home and are cooked as vegetable because it is a very good and cheap source of proteins. So, the journey of pick pea ends to a dish table
