because she herself had never been to kashi and she compared herself to old lady in the story and she had an ardent desire to visit kashi...and as she was illiterate she was dependent on her daughter to tell her the story by reading magazine but she wanted to become independent and read the story by her own later on her keen desire to know the story helped her learn to read and write.
