Kezia was so afraid of her father . On every Sunday Kezia's grandmother sent her to the drawing room for spending some time with her father . But Kezia's presence always irritated her father . Father used to call her" The little brown owl ". When Kezia's see her neighbour Mr. Macdonald , She always thought that her father is totally opposite of him .

Once a day Kezia's grandmother adviced Kezia's to make a pin - cushion cover for her father as his birthday was coming next in the week . She was finding some scraps to fill up the cushion. That time her grandmother was busy in the garden so she went to her mother's bedroom and found some sheets of papers on the table . She tore them and made the filling for the cushion . She wasn't knowing that , the papers she have tore , Was so important for her father . Her father punished her for this . In this way Kezia's efforts to please her father result in displeasing him very much .
