Sometimes a person's kidney may stop working. An infection in the kidney,an injury to kidney or restricted flow of blood to the kidney can damage the kidney due to which it may stop working. This results in kidney failure. This can cause death if the patient is not given immediate treatment. The best long-term solution for kidney failure is kidney transplantation. The damaged kidney is removed and a matching kidney is donated by a healthy person is transplanted in its place by surgical operation.if a kidney transplant is not possible due to non availability of kidney donor, then the patient has to be treated periodically by dialysis.

I hope this helps you
