Evaporation is a surface phenomenon. In this process liquid converts to vapour below it's boiling point. It causes cooling.
Five factors affecting rate of evaporation -
1. Humidity- with the increase in humidity the rate of evaporation decreases
2. Surface area- With the increase in surface area the rate of evaporation increases.
3. Nature of liquid- Evaporation depends on the nature of the liquid.
4. Wind speed- With the increase in the speed of wind the rate of evaporation increases.
5. Temperature- With the increase in temperature the rate of evaporation increases.
Hope it helps....

Hi friend,
WHAT IS EVAPORATION?
Evaporation is a process of a substance in which it changes from liquid state to gaseous state.
(or)
The phase change from liquid to gaseous state is called evaporation.
It is a surface phenomenon. It is a cooling process.
FACTORS EFFECTING EVAPORATION:-
(1)Surface area
If the surface area is more, the evaporation is done fast.
(2)Humidity
If the humidity is more, evaporation is slow.
(3)Wind speed
If the wind speed is more, evaporation is fast.
(4)Temperature
If the temperature is more, evaporation is fast.
hope it helps
