knowing about the success of ISRO now, what is your opinion about the sacrifice of the local people over there, as they had given up their own village for a scientific research center to come up.

Answer:

All great things have humble beginnings — so goes a saying. This is very true in the case of the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), the darling of India's science community and the world's envy. With around 20,000 employees in its centres across the nation and a budget running into several million rupees, Isro stunned everyone with its successful Mars mission in its very first attempt in 2013.

Over 6500 programmes have been conducted by the VRCs so far addressing the areas like, Agriculture/horticulture development; Fisheries development; Live stock development; Water resources; Tele health care; Awareness programmes; Woman’s empowerment; Supplementary education; Computer literacy; Micro credit; Micro finance; Skill development / vocational training for livelihood support etc. So far, over five Lakh people have used VRC services.
