Given:

Dimensions of the furnace wall

The temperature on the hot end and temperature on the cold end.

To Find:

The power transferred and what is solar hydrogen.

Solution:

The dimension of the furnace wall is given as l× b× h

                                                                           = 5×5×15m³

The thermal conductivity of the brick (k)is 0.4W/mK

The thickness of the wall of the furnace is(t)  = 25cm

The thermal conductivity of the ceramic blanket (k1) = 0.2 W/mK

Inside heat = 100°

the outside heat is 20°

Now, the formula for the rate of heat loss through each wall is =

Q = \frac{T_{i}-T_{o}  }{R}

Here T_{i} = the inner heat which is given as 100° and T_{o} = the outside heat which is given as 20°.

Then put the values in the formula.

Q = \frac{100-20}{0.08544}     As we know the value of R is 0.08544

Now, subtract the numerator and then divide it by the denominator.

   = 936.32W

Therefore, the power transferred is 936.32W.

Solar Hydrogen can be defined as an energy cycle where a solar power electrolyzer is used to convert water to hydrogen and oxygen.
