I tried to look around and got a faint glimpse of a man entering through the open window. I felt afraid. The man entered with a torch in his hand. With the help of a torch-light, he located the cupboard in my room. Walking stealthily, he moved towards it. I gathered my courage and told myself to do something. Suddenly, an idea struck my mind as I could not make any noise to make the thief aware of my presence. I gave a missed call through my cell phone to my parents who were sleeping in the next room. My father, a bit perplexed, came to my room. The moment he opened the door, the thief tried to run away. By that time I’d made up my mind to hit him with the water-bottle lying near my bed. The target was quite close. He jumped but the bottle hit him badly and he fell down. We caught him and handed him over to the police.

Last night I was sleeping alone in my room. Suddenly I woke up hearing a noise inside my room. At first I thought that I was dreaming. But gradually I realized the noise was coming from the cupboard of my room. There was also a breathing sound of someone.
I held my head up and saw the cupboard was open and someone was standing in front of the cupboard. A chill ran down through my spine. I understood that he was a burglar who was robbing my house. At first I decided to act like I was sleeping otherwise I feared that he would kill me.
But then I felt ashamed of being coward and decided to save my house from that convict. I remembered that there was a pepper spray kept in the drawer of my bedside table. I silently took that out and stood behind the burglar. He was so busy in taking out the valuables that he didn't notice me. All of a sudden I started spraying the pepper spray right at the face of the burglar. He started shouting and holding his eyes with his hand, he fell down on the floor.
I rushed out of the room and locked the door of the room from outside. Then I started calling my parents. They came and called the police immediately. When the police arrived and arrested the burglar, he still was unable to see clearly. My parents as well as the police praised me for my bravery.
