Subject- Ban on plastic bags

Sir,

I would like to draw the kind attention of the authorities concerned towards the increasing problem of polyethylene bags. These bags have become such a menace to our environment and even the wildlife living in it.

Polyethylene bags are cheap, easliy affordable, and avaliable in abundance to the general public. People have become so heavily depended on the that they no longer realize what a threat they pose for our environment. Polyethylene bags are essentially made of plastic, which means they do not degenerate or decompose in the soil and caus pollution. In fact, not all the plastic used is disposed off proplerly. They either usually end up in land fills, heaps near trash cans, or simply disposed off in water bodies where they end up in the digestive tract of marine animals.

People need to become aware of the dangers posed by plastic in the environment. I hope by publishing this letter in your reputed magazine, the readers get notified about this danger and do the needful.

Yours sincerely,

Tamara Fritz
