Lime water is actually Ca(OH)2 . When it reacts with CO2 insoluble CaCO3 is formed which turns solution milky. When excess CO2 is added/more CO2 is added to it, CaCO3 reacts with water and CO2 to form Calcium bicarbonate which is soluble. That is why the solution becomes clear again.
The equations are-
1) Ca(OH)2 + CO2 ------> CaCO3 + H2O
2) CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O ----> Ca(HCO3)2
Hope it helps u.
