What are the different types of coal? What are their uses? Write answers to the following in detail.

There are four types of coal.

1. Anthracite: it has carbon content of 80-90% and burns leaving behind a little ash.

2. Bituminous: it has carbon content of 60-70% and is used for domestic purpose.

3. Lignite: It has carbon content of less than 55%. It is inferior to Bituminous.

4. Peat: It has a carbon content of below 40%.
It is the worst quality of coal, leaving behind huge amount of smoke and ash.
