The word “Hunger" as per Jayanta Mahapatra was a tale of his loneliness.
He states that “Hunger” was written twenty-five years ago when he grow up in Orissa close to a temple.
Ways of life there were different and he was into religion.
His poems dosen't have those old images and he has taken the temple out his system where he had an unhappy teenage.
