1. Appointment is done similarly by the President of India.

2. Removal of a CEC and a Supreme Court Judge may be done in similar manner and on similar grounds. That may be done by passing a resolution in Parliament with special majority.     The Conditions of appointment or those of service are not supposed to be to their disadvantage.

3. They are insulated from political and executive interference. They are independent bodies. (election commission and Judiciary.

4.  Their salaries and perks are similar.

5. Their retirement age and benefits are similar.

6. The EC has powers of a civil court. So CEC has some functions and powers like a Judge of SC. Any proceedings done for offences in front of the commission are treated as judicial proceedings.

7. CEC can advise the President and the Governors related to disqualification of sitting MP and MLA. Supreme Court Judges can rule such things.

8. The relation between the CEC nd EC is similar to that of Chief Justice of SC and Judges. To make decisions, Judges on the benches, can do so. Similarly ECs can also make decisions.
